We use cobalt-free lithium iron phosphate cells, which guarantee four times the safety of the previously common NMC cells. Furthermore, the special SAX Power circuitry offers additional safety through individual monitoring and switching of the battery cells. If an error occurs, the cell switches off within 0.0002 seconds. This practically eliminates the risk of fire and explosion. After switching off, the entire system is below the safety voltage – this eliminates any risk for the installer during maintenance work.

Conventional storage systems lose energy even when idling, thereby generating unwanted heat. With a conversion efficiency of 99%, the SAX Power Home has a negligibly small loss, resulting in almost no heat generation.

Durability

With SAX Power technology, the performance of the battery series is no longer determined by the weakest cell in the series, increasing the battery’s service life by up to 50%. To operate the battery as gently as possible and maximize its service life, we use a completely new form of balancing – rotating charge balancing. In this process, the capacity of each cell is fully utilized through individual charging and discharging.

Since the SAX Power storage system outputs AC voltage directly, the inverter on the battery side is redundant and a major cost factor is eliminated. This means that for a retrofit, only the SAX Power Home is needed in addition to the existing PV system, without the additional inverter for the battery. For a new installation, you only need a standard PV inverter for the PV system instead of a hybrid inverter. This saves money and effort.

Compared to conventional products, the SAX Power battery is significantly smaller and lighter. The inverter as an additional unit is completely eliminated.
