SAX Power Home 5.8 kWh: black-start and off-grid capable

The SAX Power Home battery storage system is black-start and off-grid capable as standard. It has a capacity of 5.8 kWh, which can contribute to a home’s self-sufficiency.

If, for example, the public grid is interrupted by a blackout, the home can continue to be supplied by the off-grid-capable battery storage system. This ensures a high level of self-sufficiency, for example if power fails during severe weather or at night when the PV system cannot contribute to the supply.

If the storage system no longer has enough power to supply the home grid, its black-start capability allows it to power the inverter again as soon as the PV system is able to supply the home with electricity again. If, for example, the storage system has supplied the home overnight in off-grid mode during a blackout, residents can black-start it at the push of a button so that the inverter is powered first, followed by the loads in the home.

Important: Even though the SAX Power Home is black-start and off-grid capable, it must not operate permanently in off-grid mode. This can damage the storage system. As an electrical or solar professional, please be sure to follow the installation manual, otherwise the black-start capability may not be ensured.
